Review your research and brainstorm the top 3 eBook topicsTarget the overlapping area between what you are good at and what your audience wants. What can you offer your audience that will help them in some way and how does it relate to your area of expertise? Brainstorm 3 ideas and run them by your team.
Choose a topic by asking yourself, “Is anyone going to read this?”Predicting customer reception is another critical step that should be taken before selecting a topic. Ask yourself whether your ideal prospect would download your eBook and read it. Here is a word of advice from Isabel Isidro of PowerHomeBiz.com regarding predicting how well your eBook will do. Isidro warns that you must take the customer’s perspective and that most organizations with inaccurate perceptions of their customers:
- Make untested and unwarranted assumptions about what customers think
- Rely on weak anecdotal evidence
- and accord too much weight to atypical complaints
Now that you have a topic, choose a titleThe title of your eBook will be the first thing that most of your readers see. Get creative and draft 3 potential titles. Pick one that sticks well with you and celebrate because the first phase of acquiring leads with an eBook campaign has been completed!
